Happy Anniversary, JessicaLynnOriginal!

April 1st was the 11th anniversary for!  Jessica and the design team are celebrating all week long!

As part of the celebration, JessicaLynnOriginal is offering a free, limited edition digi stamp -  Brentwood Owl - Singing in the Rain.  Be sure to visit the website and download yours while it's available.

Each of the design team will be showcasing something special, Jessica already taught us how to download, re-size and use digital stamps and Sharon gave us a sneak peek into her design process.

For my turn, I hope you will "try a technique" with me!  As part of my process, I spent a good amount of time looking at the technique tutorials offered at  After needing to discard several, I landed on the Quarter Fold Card.  There are great directions and a video there.

After looking through my stamps and choosing the main image, I picked the colors I wanted.  Here's a photo of  the folded card, before any finishing.

I went back and forth about the final layout, but decided to keep the embellishments and coloring to a minimum since the card itself is a little fancy.

Here is my finished card!

The cute puppy is from the JessicaLynnOriginal AKC Bulldogs Collection.  The paw print is from the JessicaLynnOriginal AKC Herding Dog Stamp set.

I've been lucky to be a part of this from essentially the beginning. The "You Make Me Smile" stamp is also from JessicaLynnOriginal - one of the 2009 stamp sets!  :)

Color Box silver ink was used for the paw print and to smear under the sentiment.  The sentiment and bulldog were stamped directly onto the card stock using Ranger Archival Ink in jet black.  The card stock is standard colored card stock from a brown pack.

Below are a close-up of the bulldog and the inside of the card.  The base paper I chose is light enough I could stamp (or write) directly on it.  If you used a dark paper, the tutorial gives you dimensions to use to decorate the inside.

I hope you're able to join in the fun this week and give the Quarter Fold card technique a try!  Post your creations in the linky below and be sure to join the JessicaLynnOriginal: Craft, Create & Share group on Facebook!  All year long are free digis, challenges, and fun! We'd love to have you!

Pretty in Pink

This week's Card Concept blog challenge is "Naturally Pink".  Right away I knew I wanted to use the Stompy Elephant digi stamp from  How cute is she?

Stompy is colored with Copic markers.  I used ribbon and pattern paper I had on hand.  The sentiment is from an earlier JessicaLynnOriginal sentiment stamp set.

Coffee Lovers Spring Blog Hop

I'm excited to be able to be a part of the Coffee Lovers Spring Blog Hop!  Thank you to for the free (for a limited time) digi Brentwood stamp!

So many things to love about this Brentwood!  His stubble, for one!  And the fact his one eye isn't even open yet - a great representation of the morning before coffee!

The background of this card is paper-pieced using different pattern paper and Brentwood is colored with Copic markers.

JessicaLynnOriginal has cats!  This brand new set has 16 stamps in it, including 4 different cats.  (Don't worry if you're a dog lover - there's plenty of stamps for you, too!)

Today we are celebrating the launch of the Love of a Cat collection.  The card above was made for the Card Concept Blog challenge #50.  I wanted to use a lot of green and found that back paper from a Halloween matstack.  The cat is colored with Copics.

This was the first card I made using the set.  I love that it comes with words to put in the thought bubble.  Of course, "If I fits, I sits..." is one!  I chose the "I'm gonna go nap" because my kitties love to nap all day long.  This is also colored with Copic markers.

This last card I made with the The Craft Rocket Challenges blog challenge in mind!  This week's challenge is Feathers and/or Fur and this card has both!

I finally had a reason to use the peacock paper that I had from a paper stack I bought years ago! This Egyptian-inspired cat is colored with pencils.  I used a glitter pen on her earring and the beads on her collar.  She enjoys catching rodents and watching her servants (I mean owners) fawn all over her, because, well, #Catsrule.  :)

Check out the linky hop on JessicaLynnOriginal's blog to see how each of the Design Team used this set to create some stunning projects.

Can't wait to see what you make!

Brentwood Owl Spring Chick Set

Hello Spring!

At last it's almost here and to celebrate is a super fun blog hop! If you've made your way through to me, I hope you've enjoyed the inspiring creations made by the design team. If you need to start or got lost, Jessica's blog is the very beginning!

My first card is Brentwood and his spring chickens!  He's perched on a fence from the set that is so versatile!  Vickie used it turned vertically so it check that out as well.  I colored the fence and chickens with colored pencils.  Brentwood was colored with Copics.  I hand embossed the Hello Spring! so it's one-of-a-kind (aka crooked)!

The second card features an over-sized paper-pieced flower and a tiny, tiny Super Chicken!  Whether he's imagining that flower or just can't wait to test his wings out, he's excited for Easter and warmer weather!

The final card features a few more individual stamps from this awesome set.  The basket, which looks fantastic on everything, the egg, chicken feet and another cute little chicken.  So, which did come first?  The chicken or the egg?!  :)

If you want to get this set for yourself, it's for sale at  There's a special deal for members of the Facebook group:  JessicaLynnOriginal: Craft, Create & Share.  Join the group here and you'll get a special code for FREE shipping today!

Card Concept 47 - Brentwood Love

This card is made for two things - the Linky Hop with Brentwood Owl and Card Concept 47 Floral Elegance Challenge.

You can get this image free for another day from and maybe post your own creation to the hop!

For the Card Concept challenge, I was inspired by the colors of the image used.  Even adding a dash of yellow in his tie and using a brad for his cuff link.

The background paper felt a little overwhelming, so I washed it out some with vellum paper.  Brentwood was colored with Copic Markers.

Thanks for looking!

Brentwood Owl Hop and Free Digi!

Happy New Year!  The JessicaLynnOriginal Design Team is back for another season and the first design is a brand new Brentwood - just in time for Valentine's Day!

You can get this Brentwood digi for free for a limited time.  Join the hop by making something great with him and linking it here - I'd love to see what you create and there will be prizes!

The card features two of my favorite things - Brentwood and chocolate!  I cut another of the hearts and layered it on with a puffy pad so that it has some depth - like a 3D box of chocolates!  He's also got that twinkle in his eye from a glitter pen and was colored with Copic markers.
