Happy Anniversary, JessicaLynnOriginal!

April 1st was the 11th anniversary for JessicaLynnOriginal.com!  Jessica and the design team are celebrating all week long!

As part of the celebration, JessicaLynnOriginal is offering a free, limited edition digi stamp -  Brentwood Owl - Singing in the Rain.  Be sure to visit the website and download yours while it's available.

Each of the design team will be showcasing something special, Jessica already taught us how to download, re-size and use digital stamps and Sharon gave us a sneak peek into her design process.

For my turn, I hope you will "try a technique" with me!  As part of my process, I spent a good amount of time looking at the technique tutorials offered at Splitcoaststampers.com.  After needing to discard several, I landed on the Quarter Fold Card.  There are great directions and a video there.

After looking through my stamps and choosing the main image, I picked the colors I wanted.  Here's a photo of  the folded card, before any finishing.

I went back and forth about the final layout, but decided to keep the embellishments and coloring to a minimum since the card itself is a little fancy.

Here is my finished card!

The cute puppy is from the JessicaLynnOriginal AKC Bulldogs Collection.  The paw print is from the JessicaLynnOriginal AKC Herding Dog Stamp set.

I've been lucky to be a part of this from essentially the beginning. The "You Make Me Smile" stamp is also from JessicaLynnOriginal - one of the 2009 stamp sets!  :)

Color Box silver ink was used for the paw print and to smear under the sentiment.  The sentiment and bulldog were stamped directly onto the card stock using Ranger Archival Ink in jet black.  The card stock is standard colored card stock from a brown pack.

Below are a close-up of the bulldog and the inside of the card.  The base paper I chose is light enough I could stamp (or write) directly on it.  If you used a dark paper, the tutorial gives you dimensions to use to decorate the inside.

I hope you're able to join in the fun this week and give the Quarter Fold card technique a try!  Post your creations in the linky below and be sure to join the JessicaLynnOriginal: Craft, Create & Share group on Facebook!  All year long are free digis, challenges, and fun! We'd love to have you!
